That time target pulls its plus size line and doesn’t tell anyone.
A week ago I went into a local target and tried to find their plus size section only to find racks upon racks of straight sized clothes on clearance where the section normally is. I found an employee who told me that they put all of the plus size clothing on clearance and that they are suppose to be bringing a new line out in a few weeks. Someone else told me today that their factory was disrupted, because we all know there is a huge possibility that only the fat clothes get delayed.
Today I found out that almost everyone I know has gone into target only to discover the same thing. Rachel the owner of Re/Dress posted a blog post that shows a local target putting up signs that show there will supposedly be new clothes in target stores soon. Though I don’t really trust them and could totally see that they would put their plus size clothing online.
As of now, target hasn’t spoken about this publicly. When I tweeted about it last week I never received a response and I’m pretty upset at the fact that they would be bringing out a new clothing line for plus size shoppers while not speaking publicly about it. Target really seems to be trying to hide this move and that just seems shady to me, especially when they go out of their way to promote so much of their straight size clothing.
I’m probably going to be shopping elsewhere for a while.
